India’s women’s football team qualifies for AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup for first time in 20 years

India’s under-20 women’s football team has secured a historic qualification for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in two decades. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS, with reference to the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

India’s team topped the group with seven points, sealing victory thanks to a decisive goal from the forward in the 27th minute. India dominated the first half, the source claims.

The goal came from a counter-attack, delivering a right-wing cross that was recovered on the opposite flank. The player sent the ball back into the penalty area, where the Indian defender reacted quickly and sent it over the goal line.

In the second half, Indian goalkeeper Monalisa Devi, who had kept clean sheets in the previous two matches, made several crucial saves.

Experts are confident that this result puts India in the continental finals, marking a major milestone in the nation’s women’s football history and boosting its presence on the Asian stage.
