Iranian students take silver at World Robotics Championships in Beijing

A team of Iranian students under the age of 17 has secured second place in the Prototype Challenge league at the 2025 World Robotics Championships in Beijing. This was reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The 25-member team achieved the runner-up position behind host nation China. It was the first time Iran had reached this stage of the competition, which brings together young innovators from across the globe.

Iran also celebrated notable achievements in other categories. In the lightweight league for students aged 12 to 17, competitors Liana Gholami and Elena Kobraei finished fourth worldwide. The Iranian rugby robotics team reached the top eight, while a trio of under-12 students earned third place in the Free-style league, ranking behind teams from Thailand and China.
