Brazil and Venezuela resume flights to strengthen social and economic links

The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, welcomed the launch of flights between the cities of Caracas and Sao Paulo, emphasising that this reopening represents an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the business, social and cultural sectors of both countries.

Maduro also invited all interested airlines to operate in Venezuela and indicated that the frequency of weekly flights could double next year, according to information from Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), a partner of TV BRICS.

The Venezuelan Government responded by approving the opening of the air route, recognising the benefits for both Venezuelan and Dominican communities.

Referring to air routes in other Latin American countries, the Venezuelan leader noted that opening such connections is a straightforward matter that harms no one, adding that these actions serve the interests of communities and help to strengthen international ties.
