China is set to launch a new visa category designed to attract young, promising science and technology professionals from across the globe. This is reported by Guancha, a partner of TV BRICS.
The decision, approved by the State Council, aims to foster innovation and bolster economic growth by making it easier for qualified individuals to contribute their expertise.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang has formally enacted the amendment to the country’s regulations governing the entry and exit of foreign nationals, paving the way for the introduction of the “K” visa. This new visa category will be specifically targeted at young individuals possessing skills and knowledge in science and technology sectors.
To be eligible for the “K” visa, applicants must fulfil specific criteria and requirements stipulated by Chinese authorities and furnish supporting documentation to substantiate their qualifications. Details on the specific requirements will be released by the relevant departments in due course.
The new regulations are scheduled to come into effect on 1st October. The move is expected to further enhance China’s position as a global hub for research, development, and technological advancement.
