Indonesia’s Creative Economy Minister states that e-sports to contribute to country’s GDP growth

Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy and Creative Industries Teuku Riefky Harsya expressed confidence that the e-sports industry can stimulate the growth of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). This is reported by Antara News.

According to the Minister, cybersports combines strategy, technology and creativity, and develops culture. Harsya stressed that the industry offers a wide range of career opportunities, from managing players and organising tournaments to showcasing, production management, data analysis and creating story concepts.

He said that the government will support the development of cybersports not only through regulatory regulation but also by promoting a variety of events.

The Minister also expressed his hope for the active participation of all stakeholders in the development of the industry.
