Iranian grandmaster wins Russian Karpov International Chess Tournament

Iranian grandmaster Mohammad Amin Tabatabaei has secured an early victory at the 22nd Karpov International Chess Tournament in Russia, finishing unbeaten.

According to the Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, Tabatabaei clinched the prestigious title even before the final round, underscoring his dominance throughout the event.

After eight rounds, the grandmaster had accumulated 5.5 points, maintaining a 1.5-point lead over his nearest rival, enough to guarantee his unchallenged triumph in the tournament.
