Caracas has hosted the 2025 National Health Congress – Specialities, a gathering designed to bolster Venezuela’s National Public Health System and encourage the exchange of knowledge among professionals from diverse medical fields, according to BRICSLat, a TV BRICS partner.
The opening day brought together specialists, technicians and academics for scientific debate and updates, featuring more than 80 presentations on advances in surgery, specialist care, and new technologies applied to the sector. The central goal: to improve the quality and accessibility of medical services in Venezuela.
Health Minister Magaly Gutierrez emphasised that the initiative forms part of the seven social transformations promoted by the government, noting that technological innovation and professional collaboration are key to building an inclusive health system, in line with President Nicolas Maduro’s directives.
The congress continued with a programme of talks and discussions aimed at healthcare staff, technicians, medical students, and users of the public system. The event is part of the state’s efforts to guarantee the right to health as a cornerstone of equity and social justice.
