The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, held official talks in Saudi Arabia with Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is reported by the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Saudi Arabia remains one of Russia’s most important partners in the agricultural sector within the Middle East. In recent years, bilateral cooperation has significantly intensified, with the total volume of agricultural trade between the two countries now exceeding US$1 billion.
In 2024 alone, Russian agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 24 per cent, driven by higher shipments of barley, poultry meat, and beef. Russian wheat also continues to hold a substantial presence on the Saudi market.
Another promising area of cooperation includes the supply of veterinary vaccines produced in Russia. Additionally, Russia is actively advancing its expertise in the fields of agricultural breeding and genetics, where notable achievements have been made in recent years.
During the meeting, the ministers also discussed opportunities for cooperation in scientific and educational fields, the source claimed.
