Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. This is reported by the official website of the Russian President.
“The leaders discussed current issues related to the further development of the Russian-South African comprehensive strategic partnership,” the report stated.
Pavel Yakovlev, Chairman of Russian Chapter of Russia-South Africa Business Council, previously told TV BRICS about the diversification of trade between the two countries: South Africa is increasing its imports of Russian agricultural products, while Russia is interested in South Africa’s advanced agricultural technologies. The two countries are implementing a joint project to create a new generation of trucks and are considering the possibility of establishing direct maritime routes, such as between St. Petersburg and Cape Town. Expanding payments in national currencies also remains a priority for both countries.
