A unique project aimed at artificially inducing rainfall has been launched in Uzbekistan. Specialised equipment has been installed in the Kenimekh district is a district of Navoiy Region to influence cloud formation and stimulate rainfall. This is reported by Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.
Due to many years of drought and lack of precipitation, the district is facing serious problems in the development of livestock breeding. On the initiative of Hokim (Mayor) of the region Ruslan Ruzaev, a modern apparatus was brought to the region to influence atmospheric processes and cause precipitation.
This experience will be the first for Uzbekistan, although similar technologies have already been successfully applied in a number of countries with arid climate.
The introduction of the new technology is expected to reduce dependence on natural water sources, improve the condition of pastures and, as a result, increase agricultural yields and livestock productivity.
